Unfortunately, Ana is not in class today, so I won't be working on the Project-Fearless things. I myself am working on a second 20% project that I am doing with my foreign exchange partner from Holland, The Netherlands. More information about that if you are interested in seeing what's happening. Our website for that is country-identity.weebly.com
Bailey Souza, a friend and a fellow 20%-er has offered to call the Merced MUHSD Board of Directors and set up an appointment for herself and her project, as well as Ana and my project. Possibly, she could become a new cohort who accompanies us, and someone who helps us find a mentor.
Also, Kelly Bentz has never gotten back to us. Today we're checking in with Mrs. Spurlock, the English teacher that is guiding us through our 20% project. Our progress is going moderately well, though it is still hard to find a mentor, and protegees who are willing to accept the help of others, but we are staying optimistic and trying to think of new ways to advertise our program to others.
Ana and I have come up with a backward 5-month plan to set in motion. We have sent our plan to Mrs. Spurlock.
January: Get a mentor. And start trying to kind of form a group maybe. February: Assemble a group of people and find a place to meet. March: Begin working on our May Presentation and begin to collect data and evidence to show our progress. April: Have regular sessions with the protegees and have a consistent place to meet. May: Have something to showcase and hope we helped people. Maybe ask someone that we have helped to talk. We can continue to search for a permanent or co-mentor through the other months. We may have found a mentor who is interested in helping us. The school psychologist, Kelly Bentz. She has yet to get back to us, but we are being optimistic.
As far as the planning process, we have finished our five month plan, and are still working on forming a group. We have 2 confidential protegees so far. We are looking for 3 more. |
